Who is Santa Fred?

MY STORY

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where the seasons didn’t just change—they transformed everything. The winters were cold, the autumns were colorful, and when the snow finally arrived, it felt like the world turned into something straight out of a Christmas story. Some of my most vivid memories come from those holiday seasons—being surrounded by family, feeling the warmth of togetherness, and waking up on Christmas morning with that unmistakable excitement that only a child can feel. And when it was a white Christmas… it made the magic even stronger.

As I grew older, those memories never left me. They became part of who I am—rooted in love, kindness, faith, and family. When I eventually had a family of my own, I made sure those same values became the foundation of how I raised my two lovely daughters.

As they were growing up, I found myself stepping into a role that brought those childhood memories to life again. I began dressing as Santa Claus for family Christmas Eve gatherings, surprising them as “the big guy,” and even pulling off plenty of sneak-n-peaks along the way. The look on their faces—pure joy, disbelief, and wonder—was priceless. Those moments weren’t just funny or memorable… they were magical.

Of course, as the years passed and my daughters reached their late teen years, that childhood wonder began to fade, as it often does. But life has a funny way of coming full circle.

One day, a wonderful group of ladies from an entertainment company saw me and approached me with a question that would change everything:

“Have you ever thought about playing Santa?”

They noticed my big beard, sure—but more than that, they saw something deeper. Something that felt genuine. Something that translated as Santa.

And from that moment on, everything shifted.

Since the day I first donned the red suit, I’ve come to realize that portraying Santa Claus isn’t just about wearing the costume—it’s about becoming a symbol of joy, hope, and togetherness. It’s about bringing families closer, making children believe again, and reminding adults that the Christmas spirit still exists.

Now, three years later, I can honestly say I love every second I’m granted the opportunity to spread joy, deliver smiles, and bring the magic of Christmas to life.

Because for me…

Santa isn’t just something I play.

Santa is something I get to be.
